Margin trading requires extreme sensitivity to the timing of exit, or else you will regret it. Just two weeks ago, if I had seen the Heikin Ashi #ETH W candle not turning red, I wouldn't have been able to repay the margin, and the outcome could have been a loss already. What a disaster.
So don't think of margin as a simple tool for leverage. It is extremely dangerous, and during times of high volatility, you have absolutely no chance to make any moves. The exchange puts you on the chopping block, and it's not easy for you to escape.

In 2021, I entered crypto during the FOMO trend of GameFi, and I dove in, chasing the dream of wealth. Back then, my traditional job was going well, making 200 million a month was normal. But then I got into GameFi, specifically #elemon and #stepn, which caused me to lose $100k. But at that time, $100k only accounted for 30% of my capital. By the end of 2023: the biggest mistake of my life
I started researching altcoins and browsing X, reading some KOL posts on X, which sparked my greed, so I swapped all my holding BTC and ETH for altcoins, specifically #ALT, #STRK, #RDNT, hoping to cash out in Q1 2025 because everyone was shouting that Q1 2025 would be the alt season. I remember when I swapped, my total assets were $500k.
But life is not as dreamy. The altcoins kept decreasing to around $400k. I then researched #Margin (this was the knife that stabbed me fatally).
At that time, I only thought about borrowing $20k or $50k to play, and with $400k in capital, even if my total account dropped by 50%, I wouldn’t get liquidated. And then I borrowed and made $4k, $5k, $10k, thinking it was so easy, and kept borrowing... but the more I borrowed, the more I lost.
2025: failure!
After the crash at the end of 2024, my account dropped to $100k. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I put in more money from outside to borrow margin to recover my account, hoping to just get back to break even, but no. The damn market didn’t give me a way back, I continued to margin and kept losing.
Until yesterday, 11.10.2025, my account officially had only $100 left when margin x5 and burned out.
