Recently, @NEARProtocol conducted a light interview in a simple question format with their representative Illia, addressing various curiosities about the project. I think this type of content is good because it feels light and approachable. In fact, when looking at the camera angle, not only Illia but also Erika appeared in the middle, and while I could hear Illia speaking, I honestly found myself watching Erika chase the boiled egg she was putting in her salad. (The camera angle was too wide, lol) However, there was a really important core message in what Illia said: "If centralized AI wins, then Web3 AI is unnecessary. If one company takes everything, we won't need to ask anything elsewhere!" DeFi, which was called a financial innovation or interruption, is still in its early stages, but if it provides the infrastructure that allows us to borrow without banks, provide liquidity directly, and engage in economic/financial activities, decentralized AI will create an environment where we can utilize AI without relying on specific companies. It was a short but powerful message emphasizing the need for such an environment.
